Your 3 Days Sahara Tour from Errachidia to Merzouga starts with a pick-up at Moulay Ali Cherif Airport in Errachidia. Since most flights land in the evening, you will be transferred directly to your hotel in Merzouga to check in and relax for the night.
Our morning begins with a 4×4 desert trip around the Erg Chebbi region. We will visit the green oasis of Hassi Labied to learn about its traditional farming and canal system, then drive south toward the seasonal Lake Dayet Sriji. Next, we head to Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnaoua music performances. We will also explore the historic M’fis mines, known for mineral and fossil deposits.
During the journey, we will visit a nomad family inside their desert tent to share a cup of mint tea and learn about their traditional lifestyle. After stopping at scenic spots for photos and enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, we return to the village. Here, you will mount your camel for a 1 to 1.5-hour trek through the sand dunes, stopping along the way to watch the sunset and try sandboarding. Arriving at the desert camp, you will receive a welcome tea, enjoy dinner, listen to drum music under the stars, and spend the night in a tent.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast and a shower at the camp. You can then return to the village by camel or 4×4.
Your journey continues toward Rissani, where we can wander through the lively local market if it falls on a market day (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). We then head to Erfoud, famous for dates and fossils, with an optional visit to a local fossil workshop. Afterwards, we drive through Aoufous along the Ziz Valley, stopping at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the palm grove. Finally, we return to Errachidia for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
